POLICIES

Delinquency

Training PLUS is working extremely hard to deliver valid and reliable training to our members around the province. It can be challenging at times but we strive to make things as simple as possible for everyone.

One issue that is becoming an increasing concern is the number of members that don’t show up for classes that they have enrolled in. It’s not only an inefficient use of resources but it isn’t fair for other members who couldn’t get a seat in the class because the course was already full. We want to maximize our classes as much as possible so that we can train the highest number of members.

This has been an ongoing problem for some time and we need to take steps in order to rectify the issue. We are instituting a policy that will initiate Oct.1, 2023 to help us with this issue. It is as follows:

  1. Everybody starts at square one. Previously not having shown up for enrolled classes has zero bearing.

  2. Once a student does not show up for a class that they had enrolled in, they will be issued a warning from someone at our office. Essentially this is a “strike” against that person.

  3. Once a student receives a 2nd “strike” they will be placed on academic probation. This means that they are not allowed to sign up for another course unless there is a vacant spot available. In other words, they will be placed at the bottom of any wait list for a course and can only take training unless no other students have enrolled in the seat.

  4. Once the student on probation shows up for an assigned course again, they will be placed back in good standing and will be able to register for classes without restriction.

We fully understand that life can get hectic and there can be valid circumstances for missing a registered class. If a member notifies us by phone up until the start of the course with a valid reason for missing, there will be no strike placed against them. We do not want to make it more difficult for members to acquire certification and we are instituting this to actually make it easier for the membership as a whole.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the practice of taking someone else’s work and passing it off as one’s own. We do not take plagiarism lightly and it is not tolerated for any Training PLUS courses. W

We at Training PLUS strive to make our courses simple to navigate and accessible for our membership. We also need to maintain the integrity of our courses and our assessments in order to show our due diligence and to ensure that our members are qualified to work safely on the job.

All of our assessments for our Online or Virtual courses must be completed on one’s own and without the assistance of anyone else. If we have reason to believe that any assessment is plagiarized to any degree, corrective action will be taken to deal with the matter. This could range from having to complete the assessment again to academic probation depending on the circumstances. This goes for both anyone found plagiarizing exams or anyone who is believed to be aiding in the plagiarizing of our exams.

Lateness

A member is not eligible to take a course if they show up more than 15 minutes after the start of a course. he member will need to re-register for the course, which will be taken at a later date.

Enrollment

Registration for all courses will close two days prior to the start of the course.
