Local 1611 in cooperation with the Industry Training Authority (ITA) has obtained Red Seal Certification for the Trade designation of Construction Craft Worker (CCW). Local 1611 is the only Union to offer this certification in B.C. The (CCW) Red Seal Certification will be recognized Canada wide. To challenge the Red Seal trade qualification requires a minimum of 6,000′ CCW scope’ field hours.

Apprenticeship level technical training is 120 hours (4 weeks) of training in both classroom and practical experience. The Union will offer a 3 day review course to assist members in successfully challenging the Red Seal Certification exam. The exam is written on the 4th day.
